Our Team

Milica Margeta MD, PhD

Principal Investigator

I am a glaucoma clinician-scientist with an active clinical and surgical practice and a lab focused on the role of neuroinflammation in glaucoma. Prior to joining the faculty of Mass Eye and Ear I completed my MD/PhD at Stanford and ophthalmology training at Duke. I am excited to lead this amazing group!

Paul Cullen PhD

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

I study the retina and optic nerve head to investigate glial cell biology and the role of neuroimmunology in both homeostasis and models of glaucoma. I specialize in microscopy and tissue handling approaches that preserve the histology of the delicate junction between these structures.

Changrim Lee MSc, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

I am a trained epigeneticist, pharmaceutical scientist, and ocular surface biologist. I currently investigate sex-based differential pathophysiology of the ocular surface epithelial system. My long-term research vision is to contribute to a sex-specific precision medicine. Besides work, I am a die-hard fan of English football. I am also an enthusiastic runner. I run the Boston half marathon every year.

Ryan Xue

Research Technician

Before joining the Margeta lab, I earned my bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brown University and have previously worked on fMRI imaging research for glaucoma. In my spare time, I enjoy singing and listening to all kinds of music.

Ryan Yarcusko

Research Technician

I earned my bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Kenyon College where I studied the function and regulation of ion transport proteins. Outside of the lab, I like to play both soccer and ultimate frisbee, hike, and go birding.
